Practice areas

Online marketing and e-commerce

We review webshops, newsletter programmes and social media presence against what actually matters later: what the interface promises, what data it collects, and what happens when a buyer withdraws or complains. We fit the legal framework to the process, not the other way round.

  • Legal review of webshops: terms and conditions, withdrawal and warranty information, price display
  • Privacy notice and cookie solution for online sales
  • Legal basis for newsletter and eDM programmes, and the opt-in and opt-out flow
  • Clearance of online promotions and social media competitions, and platform house rules
  • Territoriality, exclusivity and online reseller terms in the distribution chain
  • Platform training for marketing teams

Questions clients ask us

What has to be in the terms and conditions of a Hungarian webshop?

The trader's identifying details, how an order and a contract are made, payment and delivery terms, the right of withdrawal and how to exercise it, warranty and guarantee rules, the complaints procedure and the conciliation board's contact details. The price must be shown gross and inclusive of additional costs, before the payment step.

Can we restrict where our resellers sell online?

Up to a point, but competition law sets the limit. Restricting active sales by territory and running a selective system based on quality criteria are generally allowed; a blanket ban on passive sales, a general exclusion of online selling or a fixed resale price generally are not. It is worth reading the distribution agreement with this in mind.
