He has more than 20 years of experience. He has founded Várnai and Partners in 2007 with Dr. Rupert Várnai. He is an expert of corporate law, debt management, employment and real estate law, and has wide experience in litigation. International real estate developers and financial institutions are amongst his major clients.
As an international lawyer, he previously worked for one of China’s leading law firms in Shanghai, where he focused on foreign investors while also studying Chinese law. Today, as a founding member of Cathay Associates, he is mainly participating in projects of involving Asian clients (investment, mixed companies, trade affairs and immigration).
He is responsible for info-communication and data protection issues at one of Hungary’s leading telecommunications companies and trade banks. His further areas of expertise include competition law, consumer protection and economic law. He is a member of the Hungarian Competition Law Association and its international umbrella agency, LIDC, as well as of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA).
She graduated as master of law at Kings’ College London, specialized to EU Competition law and she was legal counsel of the Competition Office in Hungary, responsible for litigations. Her further specialiyed area is Commercial Law. She negotiated several commercial and marketing contracts, introduced and contolrolled competition compliance programmes and reviewed media campaigns.
Due to her various experience at multinational companies Zsofia always recognizes the business interests and coops easily with colleagues from other proficiency, therefore ensuring the most efficient and cost-effective solution to a problem or a legal dispute.

In addition to controlling the contracts of several Hungarian property management companies, he is also responsible for the legal matters of a multinational company. He has over 10 years of experience in handling of disputes arising in the business world. He also regularly handles economic crime cases as advisor and counsel for the defendant.

He started his career in 1993, specializing in international and domestic investments, financial law, commercial property investments and developments, and related areas like corporate law, competition and employment law, and pharmaceutical industry law.
Cao Lei practices in the areas of M&A/ disposals/ joint venture, private financing and investment / fund formation and securities issuance & capital markets. She represents clients in several sectors including the internet and e-commerce, real estate, retailing, education, advertising, shipping, mining, securities, semiconductor, automobile, auto parts as well as high-technology. She has extensive experience in structuring, negotiation and documentation of projects in a wide variety of industries.

She has obtained her Economist Master degree in 2008 from Henan University and her MBA degree in 2017 from Corvinus University. She has been PR expert of major Chinese corporations. Her main responsibility is communication and coordination with our Chinese clients and partners. She speaks Mandarin Chinese and English.
Client relationship manager and Big Data expert. She has obtained her Bachelor degree at the National Research University of Moscow and her Master degree at CEU in Budapest. She is organizing communication with our international clients with a special focus on the Russian market. She speaks Russian and English.
